I'd add Stanford agents paper from April which ignited the recent wave of autonomous agents https://arxiv.org/abs/2304.03442

That's a good one too! It was always fuzzy to me whether the Smallville paper came first or whether Github repos like AutoGPT and babyagi were already in the works. Sounds like the paper had more impact than I was giving it credit for?

Insightful list. Add Amazon’ $4B investment in Anthropic yesterday (9/26)

I know! I finished this post last week, and it's already out of date. Can't believe how fast this space moves.

Fun list/concept. Where the rubber hits the road is with the insane levels of funding available, so I think #4 should be #1. That's sort of circular at my end, though, because without GPT4, we would not have such a high level of investment.

Thanks for pushing this conversation forward, guys! I appreciate both of your collective works.

It was a tough list to rank! I think you could make an argument for almost any ordering of the top 4.

It's such a complex picture, and that makes it even more interesting (to me, anyway). Keep it up!

Your comments are always so supportive and insightful Andrew.

It's an insanely amusing moment in A.I. at the intersection of Silicon Valley.
