This claim in the article is patently false: "It stays focused on your sources - unlike ChatGPT, it shouldn’t hallucinate or bring in outside information." As the app's name suggests, it uses LM technology (that's language model). It also uses RAG, and both together still rely on a large language model that uses statistics to provide outputs with high probability. It still hallucinates and makes stuff up. There are entire Reddit threads dedicated to such problems.
I have been using Elephas for a year. The ability to create “Brains” to interact with is very similar. I’m starting to wonder whether it makes sense to use any tool (or frankly for builders to build any tool), when that tool will inevitably become available from one of the Big Three in rapid fashion. The pace of creation is so fast that no footholds can be found, which ultimately just leads to more scale for the same players. I hope this is t how it plays out.
What an excellent—and useful—introduction. As a volunteer community champion, a senior with limited funds, I do worry about the "free, for now" and the investment in time to learn a tool that I may not be able to sustain due to cost. Still, love to learn and your introduction has inspired me to give NotebookLM a go. Thx!
Wow, the AI Supremacy Notebook! This is such a game-changer. I'm thrilled to see this taking shape - 20242531134 looks phenomenal. Let's do this!
Very helpful overview. Thanks!

This is awesome.
Great post.
Will start using it from now onwards. I think it will save a lot of time.

Great playbook!
Awesome!
This is brilliant! Thanks so much, I've been spending a lot of time on NotebookLM, and I will go through your videos and see how I can improve. I've started creating a series for YouTube about Outsider Artists https://youtu.be/3aqAJtfIPUs (full playlist https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLBdvm-l4RMXdAWIjUkejB3mAgq1MaPJfh )
Were you able to customize the length? I've tried using keep the summary under 5 min - but I'm not successful; I am sitll get a recording of 10 min...
Yeah this is one of the main limitations of NotebookLM right now. No way to adjust the length. Hopefully they change that at some point.
Got it. Thank you! I’m glad it wasn’t just me 🤣
