Will A.I. automate software testing and displace QA Testers?
Artificial Intelligence is improving in Test Automation
Hey Guys,
I’m going to talk about something far away from my field of expertise, but also something largely ignored about how software is eating the world!
The world of software is so engineer-focused, but let’s not forget the front-line heroes.
Front Line Heroes of Software - the QA Folk
Years ago we were told A.I. was likely to displace truck drivers, Uber drivers and retail cashiers, but while this movement has maybe started, it hasn’t occurred at perhaps the scale and speed, like some of us assumed it might.
Today I want to talk about AI in QA testing in software and apps.
The process of ensuring that your product or software is of the best quality for your clients is referred to as quality assurance testing or QA testing. QA refers to the processes that are carried out in order to prevent issues with a software product or service.
I wanted to understand if QA testers in software, apps and so forth, are at risk for being displaced by A.I. anytime soon?
Will A.I. ever be as good at finding bugs when humans are the consumers and do things in software and apps that are perhaps hard to emulate? When it comes to automation testing, the impact of AI is a big issue to address. The question on everyone’s mind is if AI will replace automation testing.
In the software industry, automation has been widely adopted to expedite software testing and ensure high quality and desired user experience. However, as the software products become more complex and the volume of testing increases, software quality assurance will need to integrate A.I. better.
The use of artificial intelligence (AI) in test automation is the latest trend in quality assurance.
Since modern UIs change constantly and are generally dynamic, QA managers may have use for evolving A.I. that improves test automation.
Finding bugs in apps and software is a critical component in the software and apps release cycle. AI-based testing is a specific software testing technique where AI and Machine Learning algorithms effectively test a software product.
Obviously I’m not an expert in QA and software testing, but I find the topic pretty interesting.
