Hey Everyone,

Let’s say you seriously want to dip your toes in A.I. in 2023. What do I recommend?

To provide maximum value to the community, I’ve been thinking about listicles of late regarding the A.I. community online. Namely I’ve been thinking about Reddit, LinkedIn and Twitter. These three platforms slice the “A.I. chatter” in unique ways.

So today let’s tackle Twitter.

Prediction: 2023 will make 2022 look like a sleepy year for AI advancement & adoption.

  • Twitter is still relevant since a lot of book writers in A.I., executives and tool builders frequent it and comment on it.

  • Twitter also has angel investors, venture capital folk and journalists that provide valuable context.

Twitter thus has its own "edutainment-verse” around A.I. hype.

ChatGPT increased the spectrum of importance of Twitter around A.I. as well as people shared their experiences with the demo and about Generative A.I. and GPT-3 (3.5) hype as well in 2022.

I am putting their Twitter handle in brackets, otherwise Substack thinks I’m trying to tag someone.

  • So in my view if you can, and are passionate about A.I., you’d be following a mix of A.I. journalists, writers, executives and companies.

  • Ideally both women and men. Both established A.I. luminaries and younger researchers or voices. Both critical journalists and marketing swinging VC analysts.

  • You will want more people who talk about papers than hype. You will want enough Venture Capitals, angel investors and executives to get a sense of the actual ground reality of industry news.

But if realistically you can only follow a few, these are some on my radar that I hope is helpful to someone out there: (recommend me others to add to this list):

My list thus includes:

  • Researchers

  • Journalists

  • Founders, Executives

  • A sprinkling of VC folk

  • Authors

  • A.I. Newsletter Niche Creators

AI is the defining tech of our time. Especially this year we have seen so much scientific and tech advancement -- real breakthroughs -- and on top of that a real dedication to using this to contribute to solving societal challenges. There so much more to do.

I recently had the pleasure to discuss what’s just over the horizon regarding the large language model-powered AI systems that are going to positively impact how most of us live, work, and create in the very near future. Check it out here: https://t.co/JbVYHU8N4a https://t.co/v8BHAyK3yj

This took me forever to map out. The best way to use this list is view the article on the web and super-follow everyone on this list if you use Twitter to get the latest info around A.I.

2023 is clearly going to be an important year for the industry.
