“What kind of a world will we be living in when robots and humanoid robotics go mainstream?”

Two of my favorite voices in humanoid robotics coverage have to be

Diana Wolf Torres
, along with in Physical AI
Grace Shao
. They sometimes cover robotics and physical AI on this pub.

Boston Dynamics Atlas robot has visual upgrades in 2025.

Headlines in Robotics:

As AI continues to evolve and the mass production of humanoid robots begins, I suspect I’ll be covering robotics increasingly on this publication. This future AI takes many aspects and with all the emphasis on LLMs, the impact of robots might be underestimated in the mid 2020s.

🔵 Industry news I noticed recently:

  • Amazon will begin to test humanoid robots in delivery.

  • Meta’s new V-JEPA 2 world model uses raw video to train robots. [read paper]

  • How Boston Dynamics Atlas humanoid robot now handles drops, stumbles, and unexpected failures.

  • AI robots help nurses beat burnout and transform hospital care. (Nurabot, developed by Foxconn and Kawasaki Heavy Industries with Nvidia)

  • The Head of Tesla’s Optimus Program Just Resigned. Farewell Milan Kovac. Bloomberg reports that Autopilot chief Ashok Elluswamy will take over responsibility for Optimus, which is at a critical stage.

  • Figure AI unveils BotQ high-volume humanoid manufacturing facility (April). Figure AI said this Spring that BotQ’s first-generation production line will be capable of manufacturing up to 12,000 robots per year.

The floor plan for Figure's BotQ manufacturing facility.

Robotics Macro Articles

🟢 Context and insights into the Macro robotics wave that is coming: (by Diana on this publication already):

  2. How General purpose robots are coming

  3. Global Robotics Landscape 2025

💡 What is this article about?

This article explores what really happens when humans work alongside robots—and the psychology behind making it successful. Drawing from verified studies at Case Western Reserve University, BMW's real manufacturing trials, and European workplace research, it reveals the specific factors that lead to 50% productivity boosts versus complete implementation failures.

With quotes from industry leaders and all statistics properly sourced, it's a data-driven look at the human side of automation that your readers will find both fascinating and immediately useful for understanding our robotic future.
