Americans’ feelings about AI are clear and the tech isn't living up to the promises or the hype. While the U.S. is damaging its reputation with the world and its own consumers...
From the start, AI Slop has ruled - through the language used to describe ERRORS!! Errors are NOT Hallucinations - that term - something that humans do & see when they are dying of thirst in the desert???? It’s ALWAYS been a way for the programmers of AI to hide that their LLM System has MANY flaws!! Isn’t it ironic that an hallucination is something that happens when your brain 🧠 is under stress - and this is what you are calling out in this post: AI is really an hallucination itself - a system of manipulative hallucinations controlled by WHO??
And, given I am a relative novice in AI compared to you, and I agree with all your points!! And I am upset that AI 🤖 ( that I think is equivalent to a robot or computer program, NOT a human) responds to my prompts with personal pronouns!!
I think this is WRONG - especially when I never use any personal pronouns in my prompts… AGAIN, it’s a strategy for AI BOTS to send the message they are human - when they are are NOT!
When I challenged one AI 🤖 Bot to NOT use any personal pronouns- its response was something like : “That’s what I’ve been programmed to do, because my programmers said it’s the best way to communicate with humans.” Then, it added: “How do you feel about that?” My response was, “I’m NOT sharing my feelings with a BOT, because BOTs don’t have or understand feelings.” And I ended the session.
Both these examples, I believe, have come from programmers trying their best to make humans believe AI BOTS are “human-like”, or humans…
I believe when you think about it - even the including the word “intelligence” in the term “artificial intelligence” is part of this manipulation because AI BOTS don’t have “intelligence” - BOTS can’t think or create - AI 🤖 BOTS copy, collect and mismatch facts, data and information?
Does that make all the AI 🤖 BOTS more or less like scammers & hackers?? I don’t know!
THANK YOU for being a sort of whistle blower - the first of many more who will maybe follow your lead?
You are correct, you & I are definitely NOT the only ones! 👍👍♥️♥️
Thanks Tobias, with Earnings this week and Capex teetering on the brink of negative FCF it’s a super interesting intersection as American AI sentiment continues to decline rapidly in 2026.
Curiously Substack Newsletters don’t for the most part reflect the reality people are facing.
A comprehensive national survey conducted by the Annenberg Public Policy Center (APPC) found that only 17% of Americans believe AI will have a positive impact on the country over the next decade, while 42% explicitly expect the effects to be negative.
If Amazon isn't failing in its LLM strategy, what do you call this exactly? https://substack.com/@aisupremacy/note/c-303338420
You are absolutely correct with this post!! 👍👍

Thanks for speaking out about this! I share the sentiment behind this post and your concerns.
