I’m noticing the intersection of geopolitical risk, the A.I. arms race towards A.I. Supremacy showdowns and the advent of space-tech and space weapons is going to create more A.I. Risk as a civilization.
Experts think AI could bring on the next Industrial Revolution — and some even think it could trigger nuclear war
Researchers surveyed 480 experts in Natural Language Processing on what they think of AI.
Many respondents agreed that AI can create "revolutionary societal change" and lead to catastrophe.
This survey was even before ChatGPT came on the scene.
Meanwhile Space-tech is about to emerge out of stealth and it will take geopolitical rivalry into space and satellites. A growing number of companies are racing to get into the space defense business—but a major conflict of interest scandal could be on the horizon. The way Space agencies, governments and corporations do businesses will weaponize A.I. and make weapons in space more dangerous.
We don’t have adequate guardrails in place for what comes next. I’m probably not the only one who is getting worried about this.
