It feels like the merge is a mechanism for Musk to Bank his Trillion Dollar Tesla package. If Tesla is merged then it seems Musk's package milestones and targets dissolve and he can claim the package benefits.
Sure let’s plaster Earth with mega resource draining, energy wasting AI Satan Centers —and don’t worry, humans will survive (sorry no other life forms will) —when Earth becomes a wasteland of death, we can just go live on Mars with no water, food or atmosphere needed….
There are definitely safety aspects to having too many satellites in operation in low earth orbit. The United States basically think space is its property at this point. SpaceX wouldn't exist with all of those government, Pentagon and NASA contracts.
There are environmental and geopolitical aspects of this that are difficult to fathom. Jeff bezos often makes the argument that off Earth infrastructure is actually good for the planet.
If it only cost him $60 billion in stock to become more decent in AI by acquiring Cursor, the inflated value of the stock really is an asset to go on a acquisition binge.
Given the way the market is going there might be some fire sales on soon.
Elon musk's concentration won't be healthy. Musk controls SpaceX, the bigger company by market cap, with 10-to-1 supervoting shares.
I wonder what companies a combined Tesla and SpaceX might be interested in acquiring?
As long as the Elon cult is around he should be good, it would be interesting to see what happens to the stocks if he suddenly falls ill or retires.
When part of your cult are other billionaires it certainly is convenient.

That's a good point. The level of control and amount of shares he will own in the combined entity is unprecedented.

Elon is playing Monopoly, except every company is his own property.
