Suffice to say that Nvidia has had a good year in 2023. At the end of May, the company entered the $1 Trillion club. Its stock has gone up 212% so far in 2023 alone, so what gives?
Nvidia announced a new configuration on Tuesday August 8th, 2023 for its advanced artificial intelligence chips that is designed to speed generative AI applications and it’s sort of a big deal.
You might even say Nvidia has been the major beneficiary of the Generative A.I. hype that we’ve seen in the last 9 months. Nvidia priotized A.I. a long time ago, and years later it’s starting to show dividends. The GH200 will have three times the memory capacity of the popular H100 GPU.
Nvidia dominates the market for AI chips with over 80% market share, according to some estimates. So now, Nvidia, already the market leader in providing high-end processors for generative AI use, will release an even more powerful chip as the demand to run large AI models continues.Â
