Welcome back,

Part of my mission is to give my readers practical applied AI tips and guides.

But we haven’t covered much the impact of Generative AI on product, product managers and product workflows. I’ve recently reached out to some product experts to help us understand better what is going on in product at the intersection of Gen AI.

In late 2024 and in 2025 we have seen many Product Newsletters elevate themselves through giving great AI workflow tips to product managers. Among these on Substack,

David Pereira
stands out to me. His Newsletter is called Untrapped Product Teams.

David is based in Germany and has written a book (4.8 rating) on his specialty. I asked him for a short video to help us understand his Newsletter.

Let his unique expertise inspire your journey.

Coming from a low-middle-class family in Brazil, David is thriving now in his career. He’s developed a lot of expertise and I also find him extremely humble yet ambitious. I rank him among the top ten Newsletters talking about Generative AI in product today globally. I would know, after this survey of thousands of AI related Newsletters.

White collar Professionals work in a new world in 2025 🔮

There is a broader thing going on here though:

Even if you don’t work in Product, aren’t a PM, how product teams are integrating Generative AI, vibe coding and AI-first workflows is eye opening and moving fast. How this is changing how professionals work, accomplish tasks, meet objectives creatively and implement automations is very related here. AI is forcing white collar professionals to think, work, strategize, plan, collaborate and execute differently. This is part of that story.

  • In the article he also outlines some of the top AI tools useful for product managers and how he uses them. I’m a fan of David’s ability to synthesize, simplify and condense on AI at the intersection of product management.

Let’s get into the deep dive:

Here’s what GenAI can already do for you in less than a minute:

  • Competition analysis with insights on differentiation

  • Interactive prototypes you can immediately test

  • Help you leverage your work with critical feedback

  • Data analysis with applicable insights

  • Define multiple product experiments that you can run immediately

  • Identify assumptions you may otherwise ignore

  • Enable you to create web applications without coding skills

You should definitely equip yourself with GenAI. Here’s what we will cover in this episode:

  • Why You Should Care About GenAI

  • Tools to Boost Your Potential Right Now

  • Applying GenAI with Product Strategy

  • Applying Discovery with GenAI

  • Conclusion

Why You Should Care About GenAI

First, be careful with the noise. Some narratives are misleading:

  • AI will make product managers obsolete

  • AI will replace the software engineers

  • AI will replace everything

In my view, AI will transform how we work. What wasn’t feasible a few years ago becomes possible now.

GenAI creates content based on context and requests. Isn’t that beautiful? Product management is all about context understanding and stepping into the unknown. AI will accelerate the pace of product development. However, you’re the driver, and AI’s the co-pilot. You need to master your craft instead of blindly delegating to AI.

Let’s first examine tools you can immediately benefit from and then consider GenAI's applicability for strategy, discovery, and delivery.
