Healthcare is being improved by A.I. in myriad ways in the 2020s. From important startups coming out of stealth, to improved early diagnosis, we are just at the start of this movement. Soon you’ll be able to know years before if you will get Parkinson’s due to A.I.
There are so many topics I want to cover about A.I. at the intersection of healthcare, I could easily fill up an entire Newsletter just for those updates.

How Google will leverage PaLM-2 for Healthcare is one of the big things I’m watching in 2023. How large language models (LLMs) encode clinical knowledge to empower and augment physicians and nurses is super interesting.
It has the power to improve early diagnosis at scale, lower healthcare costs, improve accessibility and enable a more patient-centric journey, among many other things. I believe Google Health is at the forefront of healthcare and artificial intelligence.
The convergence of improved productivity, RPA, Generative AI and low-code may enable a new kind of healthcare that’s more patient centric and where clinicians are able to make better decisions faster with A.I. This will take many years to see fruition on the front lines of healthcare. I am exceedingly optimistic about this.
In short, automation and technological upgrades will support clinicians and usher in new smart hospitals that reduce burnout and churn of healthcare workers, while improving patient experiences.
It will take some time, but A.I. in healthcare has so much potential for personalized and precision medicine, it’s like the holy grail of A.I. as a force for well-being, longevity and better patient centric experiences. Google’s PaLM 2 and Med-PaLM in particular are a step in that direction.
