Hey Everyone,
For me in 2023 with Artificial Intelligence, Google is the elephant in the room. Let me explain my thinking.
While Microsoft is a highly diversified company with an excellent Microsoft Research group, it’s not an AI-first company at the level of pure-play specialty that Alphabet is. A.I. integration isn’t A.I. innovation.
Even with an exodus of talent from Google Brain and DeepMind in recent years, Google is bred to be world-class in A.I. It’s advertising revenue fuels an incredible amount of research and development in A.I. and machine learning.
The threat AI products, like ChatGPT, has prompted Google to jumpstart development on AI products.
Microsoft thinks spending $11 Billion OpenAI is a sound strategy. Time will tell. The New York Times reported recently that Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin have discussed its response to ChatGPT, with plans to launch over 20 AI products this year, including a demo of its own search chatbot.

So Google has to build a rival to ChatGPT and GitHub Copilot, it thinks and keep challenging Microsoft Azure in the Cloud with Google Cloud’s offering. Yet Google is in a position to offer even more A.I. products that Microsoft simply integrating ChatGPT into its products, and it’s a big distinction.
