I really enjoy breaking news on the positive impact of A.I. in healthcare.

A.I. is improving as an early diagnostic tool in many areas of healthcare that has the potential to improve real-world outcomes. As BigTech companies like Google, Amazon, Apple and Microsoft are putting more emphasis on moving into the healthcare field, it’s good to see they are contributing with a positive impact their expertise in machine learning.

From AI Research to Real world Clinical Practice:


After a pivotal moment in 2020 to show Google’s AI technology performed better than radiologists in a retrospective study at identifying signs of breast cancer, they announced on November 28th, 2022 a new important milestone that has been achieved: Google Health announces their first commercial agreement to license their mammography AI research model to be integrated in real-world clinical practice.

According to the company, this can make healthcare AI to be more accessible and eventually saves more lives.

In 2020, there were 2.3 million people diagnosed with breast cancer and 685,000 deaths globally. Early cancer detection is key to better health outcomes. But screenings are work intensive, and patients often find getting mammograms and waiting for results stressful.
