Goldman Sachs Predicts 300 Million Jobs Will Be Lost Or Degraded By Artificial Intelligence

Hey Everyone,

In case you missed it there was a small hiccup recently when Goldman Sachs put out this note. Outside of a few companies like Nvidia, OpenAI, Microsoft, Google, Anthropic, Dell, Adobe and others, is Generative AI really generating ROI and value?

Goldman Sachs, who made some of the most outlandish statements and predictions regarding the impact of LLMs on the future of work in 2023 around, seems to be considering the data in 2024, a bit more carefully.

For premium subscribers, let’s unpack this new rising skepticism about the value being created by LLMs. How much of Generative AI’s hype cycle is even real?

Everything from demand for Nvidia’s AI chips to Generative AI applications doesn’t seem very distributed or widespread. That doesn’t paint a rosy picture for this hype trend moving forwards and even some economists are starting that initial projections might have been a bit unrealistic.
