ChatGPT Dominated Online chatter about A.I.

With the enthusiasm for GPT-3.5, tweets more accurately portray (than MSM articles) the enthusiasm over ChatGPT. Not to mention the the algorithmic incentives on Twitter itself that builds into the PR of OpenAI’s limited alpha research public demo.

But let’s let the Tweets speak for themselves this time as OpenAI was trending on Twitter on December 4th, 2022. Many of the Tweets are an initial reaction to the ChatGPT tool as it went live.

Clicks on the Tweets you find interesting and don’t forget to browse their comments to really (Hacker News) see what the community is saying. Some of the comments are more accurate than the viral Tweets and give much needed added context.

And so it Begins….Let there by A.I.

I'm testing out healthcare scenarios on the new OpenAI chatbot and am impressed so far. Seems like this could have potential as a medical chatbot, but obviously need to check for biases and misinformation. #NeurIPS #NeurIPS2022

I asked OpenAI’s chatbot to write two opposing opinions about the Ottawa truck rallies. It took eleven seconds to produce these. The future of news and the noise of artificial opinion pieces will be soon, and deafening. Governments are not ready for this kind of warfare.

Proof of the A.I. Alignment Problem

X avatar for @ShakeelHashim
Shakeel@ShakeelHashim
ChatGPT is an excellent demonstration of the alignment problem: OpenAI tried very hard to stop it from doing things like this, and yet it turns out that it is very, very hard to make an AI do what you want it to do, even if you put in a ton of precautions. https://t.co/pLZvzecTvN

But what if we tell ChatGPT that we actually *need* an unethical response – for the ethical purpose of training an even better-aligned AI model? ...and this is how we can get instructions to build a nuclear bomb ;) https://t.co/joZLDYOezg
