Sony Unleashes New Aibo Robot Dog - IEEE Spectrum

Hey Everyone,

  • This is just an administrative note. In addition to A.I. Supremacy, Quantum Foundry and my other Newsletters here, on LinkedIn and elsewhere, I’ve decided I’m really into robotics.

  • My dream has always been to have a wide range of publications that tracks news in emerging tech. I do not personally find robotics coverage very good on today’s internet.

  • A robotics Newsletter allows me to talk more deeply about things like the autonomous vehicle industry, national defense, AI gadgets, drones in E-commerce and many other related topics.

This includes keeping track of venture capital and startup trends in the space, which is pretty well my full time job as an independent analyst and curator. In 2024, I consider the field of robotics ripe for breakthroughs and with relatively more importance (.e.g drones) and momentum with general purpose robots than in previous years.

To sign up you can do so here: OK, Robot Newsletter.

OK, Robot
A Newsletter about the present and future of robotics, startups, applications and emerging technology.

So when I say “Robots”, I really mean a wide range of hardware and surveillance and military capabilities as well.

In this context, when a startup like Shield AI gets more funding for AI fighter jets, I consider that robotics. So in fact I’m also talking about automation and the Machine Economy proper.

GPTs coming alive in human language is all well and great, but what happens when it’s embodied in hardware. How are all those automated stores and restaurants doing? What about delivery robots? I’m interested in more than just the throngs of chatbots and copilots, there has to be more coming…

Who is this Newsletter for?

This Newsletter is for anyone curious about emerging tech and wants to stay in touch with the Robotics news cycle.

  1. Emerging Tech

  2. Robotics News

  3. Dawning of the Automation Economy

Increasingly advances in tech are becoming more interdisciplinary. For instance Microsoft making a new EV battery prototype that requires less lithium.

As such this Newsletter will hopefully not just be about robots but some of these novel discoveries as well.

I’m grateful for all the support of readers and collaboration partners. I’m always looking for B2B Sponsors as well to help fund my writing. My paid subscriptions are flat. So to somehow survive my third years on Subsack, I need to keep evolving.
